Thanks to its high-speed CMOS sensor and newly developed high-speed processor, the HD2000 can achieve high-speed shooting at up to 600 fps. Kids, pets, or sports scenes that are usually too fast to catch can be viewed in slow motion on this camera. Slow-motion playback is also very useful for checking your form at various sports.
Note: Video recording resolution in Web-SHR mode is 448 x 336 pixels at 1/4 speed, and in Web-UHR mode it is 192 x 108 pixels at 1/10 speed. Continuous recording time is approx. 10 seconds (with no sound). During video recording, it is not possible to record photos or operate the zoom function. Focus and exposure control is fixed and the digital image stabilizer cannot be engaged.

Compared with photo capture, which employs 10x optical zooming, video shooting on the HD2000 utilizes a greater amount of the CMOS sensor’s effective pixel area. Image quality is retained, even when you use the 16x optical zoom lens to expand the shooting area for wide-angle or telephoto shots.

Conventional noise reduction methods are applied to video images one frame at a time. On the HD2000, however, the noise-reduction feature also takes into account signal noise in the preceding frame, resulting in higher quality video images.

The HD2000 employs a Face Chaser function for shooting videos, which is able to track people’s faces quickly and bring them into focus. The Face Chaser function has been developed so that it can follow the faces of up to 12 people and even track faces from a side-on angle.
Note: Depending on the subject and shooting conditions, face detection may not operate as expected.

For beautiful full high-definition video recording, the HD2000 reduces the effect of the camera shake that typically occurs when you zoom in on a subject. SANYO’s original digital image stabilizer is capable of automatically distinguishing between unintended camera shaking and deliberate pans and tilts.

Brightness on the HD2000’s wide-screen LCD monitor can be adjusted to any of seven levels. Also, the monitor can rotate through approximately 285º, so you can easily position it at your preferred angle. This lets you keep your subject clearly in view, whether you’re shooting high, low, or at yourself and your kids.

The HD2000 is always ready to shoot. Because it records onto a solid-state SD memory card—rather than HDD or DVD media with moving parts—you can start shooting immediately after opening the monitor.

The HD2000 offers the convenience of editing full HD videos on the camera itself. You can easily splice multiple clips into a single video, or cut unwanted footage. This feature is particularly useful when it comes to viewing slideshows and using your SD memory card capacity more effectively.

Compatibility with 32 GB SDHC memory cards means the HD2000 can record full high-definition video for approximately 5.5 hours.
Note: When the recording file size exceeds 4 GB, the file will be saved, and subsequent data will be saved in a new file. (A new file is automatically created every 4 GB. Although recording will continue until stopped by the user, recording of video clips and sound pauses when files are being saved.)

To capture the atmosphere of a scene and bring it to life, the HD2000 records 16-bit, stereo MPEG-4 Audio (AAC-LC) at 48-kHz. Using an external microphone allows you to record video with more realistic sound quality.

The HD2000 employs advanced MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 video compression technology that makes it easy to save and play back files on a PC.
