The HD2000 features a Xacti HD lens, a high-speed CMOS sensor, and a newly developed high-speed processor to capture high-resolution images. These help it to record clear and smooth 1920 x 1080p full high-definition video despite the camera’s light and compact body. The HD2000 is also capable of high-speed shooting at 600 fps/240 fps*2. Using this feature, you can view fast-motion videos, such as sports scenes, in slow motion—impossible on a normal camera.

Realistic High-Resolution 8-Megapixel Photos

The HD2000 can capture realistic 8-megapixel photos
Despite being a full high-definition video camera, the HD2000 can capture realistic 8-megapixel photos just like those taken with a dedicated digital camera. It can even record higher-resolution images at up to 12 megapixels (4000 x 3000 pixels), using real-time interpolation technology*3. Meanwhile, the Face Chaser function*4 can automatically keep track of up to 12 faces even if they move, giving you hassle-free and beautiful images.

• For SANYO Xacti Dual Cameras, “Full HD” is defined as data recorded at 1920 (horizontal) x 1080 (vertical) pixels.
*1 Among consumer-use camcorders (as of February 6th 2009).
*2 Video recording resolution in Web-SHR mode is 448 x 336 pixels at 1/4 speed, and 192 x 108 pixels at 1/10 speed. Continuous recording time is approx. 10 seconds (with no sound). During video recording, it is not possible to record photos or operate the zoom function. Focus and exposure control is fixed and the digital image stabilizer cannot be engaged.
*3 A pixel-interpolation filter converts 8-megapixel images from the image sensor into the recorded equivalent of 12 megapixels.
*4 Depending on the subject and shooting conditions, the Face Chaser function may not operate as expected.
