High-Speed Shooting and Slow Playback

With the Xacti HD1010, you can shoot at a fast 300 fields per second, and then play the footage back in slow motion*. This lets you capture the fast movements of children or pets in play, as well as sports scenes, and then slow down and view your subjects’ changing facial expressions, which normally you can’t see. The HD1010 gives you all this plus vivid images of beautiful nature scenes and other difficult-to-catch images.

*Note (1): In slow motion mode, the resolution of recorded frames is 448 x 336 pixels (with no audio). Continuous recording in this mode is possible for up to 10 seconds.
Note (2): It is not possible to take simultaneous still images or use the zoom function in slow motion mode. Nor is it possible to adjust focus or exposure settings, or engage the digital image stabilizer.

Bright F1.8, 10x Optical Zoom Lens

The Xacti HD1010 incorporates a high-performance 10x optical zoom lens with a maximum aperture of F1.8, allowing distant subjects and people to be captured with beautiful quality. By also employing the 10x digital zoom, it’s possible to zoom your target up to 100x.

Electronic Image Stabilizer for Both Stills and Videos

During video recording, the Xacti HD1010 incorporates a digital image stabilizer capable of accurately distinguishing between unintended camera shaking and deliberate pans and tilts. It corrects unwanted shake without sacrificing the natural feel of recorded clips.

When shooting still images, the new electronic image stabilizer compensates for camera shake that cannot be corrected by optical stabilizer systems. It compensates for unwanted vertical and horizontal motion, as well as rotary shaking.

High-Definition Video and Still Images Captured Simultaneously

Full-HD Video
The Xacti HD1010 enables simultaneous shooting of 2-megapixel still images and full-HD (1920 x 1080i) videos. Without having to interrupt video shooting, you can capture a still image with a simple press of the shutter button.
Note: Output varies depending on the number of pixels in the still image and the recording mode used for shooting.

Easy-to-View Large 2.7-inch LCD Monitor

The large 2.7-inch TFT LCD monitor built into the Xacti HD1010's compact body makes it easier to see and confirm images before and after shooting. The monitor itself can rotate through approximately 285º, so you can position it at your preferred angle. This lets you keep your subject clearly in view, whether you’re shooting high, low, or at yourself. Closing the monitor while the HD1010 is turned on automatically puts it into stand-by mode. Then, once the monitor is opened, the camera starts up and is ready for shooting straight away. By allowing you to skip the usual on/off process, the Xacti HD1010 enables easy viewing and fast shooting.

High-Quality Digital Stereo Recording

The 48-kHz, 16-bit, 2-channel sound of AAC-LC (MPEG-4 Audio) matches the realism of full-HD videos. Thanks to original low-frequency restoration technology, the noise-reduction system minimizes noise caused by wind during shooting. The Xacti HD1010 also features an external mic terminal and a headphone terminal.

Handy Playback and Editing Functions

Using the 9-Image Display function, you can quickly search for a specific image. The Slideshow feature, meanwhile, lets you play back images continuously. The HD1010 also offers the convenience of extracting still frames from videos and editing videos on the camera itself. You can easily splice multiple clips into a single video, or cut unwanted footage, by visually selecting clips on the time bar. This function helps you to use your SD memory card capacity more effectively.
