Tokyo, September 30, 2009 – SANYO Electric Co., Ltd. (SANYO) is pleased to announce the release of two new high-brightness high-performance portable projector models: the LP-XM150 has the highest brightness in its class*1 at 6,000 lumens and the LP-XM100 has a high brightness of 5,000 lumens. These projectors are ideal for use in spaces such as large conference rooms or lecture halls.
Since the dawn of the projector age, SANYO has been leading the industry through its development of out-of-the-box functions and high-brightness/high-image-quality technologies. This year marks the 20th anniversary of its entry into this market.
The highest brightness in its class*1 LP-XM150 and the high-brightness LP-XM100 are cost-effective portable projectors incorporating numerous functions that are ideal for professional use. In addition, a new optical engine using an inorganic liquid crystal panel has been incorporated to ensure high reliability.
The LP-XM150 and LP-XM100 will be released in turn beginning on November 20, 2009.
These projectors will be displayed at the GITEX Technology Week 2009 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from October 18 to October 22, 2009.

Main Features
1. Highest brightness in its class*1 at 6,000 lumens [LP-XM150]
- One rank higher brightness ensures a bright and beautiful big-screen projection -
- Combining a newly developed optical engine with superior cooling technology enabled the brightness to be boosted one rank higher to the highest brightness in its class*1 at 6,000 lumens.
- Light efficiency approximately 20% higher*2 compared to our conventional model*3 enables big-screen projection which is brighter and more beautiful.
- Ideal for use in large conference rooms, lecture halls, or a usage that requires projection in well-lighted areas, such as digital signage.
*1 As of September 30, 2009 (scheduled sales date: November 20, 2009), for LCD projectors of 10kg or less
(LP-XM100: 5,000 lumens)
*2 Light efficiency: Brightness (lm) / Lamp power (W)
*3 SANYO conventional model: LP-XT35

2. New Optical Engine using an inorganic liquid crystal panel and AMF: Active Maintenance Filter system
- High reliability and lower maintenance cost achieved -
- Highly durable New Optical Engine using an inorganic liquid crystal panel is incorporated.
- “AMF: Active Maintenance Filter” system enables a filter cartridge replacement interval of approximately 10,000 hours*4. One cartridge containing a filter roll equal to 10 filters reduces the filter cartridge replacement frequency to one-tenth, realizing high reliability and lower maintenance cost.
*4 General estimate when Lamp control “Normal mode” is selected, which was calculated through the company’s independent test in reference to the JIS D0207 test method. The filter cartridge replacement frequency changes according to the use environment.

3. Equipped with “Power Vertical/Horizontal Lens Shifting” and other superior
functions making it ideal for professional use
- A formidable edge in a variety of use environments -
- “Power Vertical/Horizontal Lens Shifting Function” and “Power Zoom/Focus Function” enable projection adjustment without changing the projector position.
- These power-driven systems can be easily operated with a remote control, which is convenient when a projector is fixed in a high place.
- Other superior functions ideal for professional use are incorporated, such as “Corner Keystone Correction” for straightening the image when projecting from an angle and “Mechanical Shutter” which is convenient when the projection needs to be temporarily blocked out.
- In addition to the standard specification lens, 5 new lens options, from a short-focus type to a long-focus type, are available. This enables the optimum lens selection according to the installation site, making these projectors usable in a variety of spaces, such as medium- to large-size conference rooms, classrooms, and lecture halls.

4. Other Features
- “Vertical 360-degree Tilt Angle Projection” allows projection on the ceiling, floor, etc.
- After use, the “Direct Power-off Function” allows shut down without even pressing the power button. It’s all right to turn off the power using a breaker etc.
- “Anti-theft Hook” is provided for chaining a projector unit.
- “Auto Input Signal Search” function for automatic input signal detection.
- Loud “7W Speaker” enhances listenability in a space like a conference room or a classroom.
- Wired LAN terminal (RJ-45) enables control and management of the projector over a network.
- Compatibility with the optional “PJ-NET Organizer” enables sophisticated centralized control.

Outline and Background
The number of high-brightness projectors in the range of 4,000 to 7,000 lumens shipped in the world market is expected to be approx. 160,000 units in 2009, approx. 220,000 units in 2010, and approx. 310,000 units in 2011 (according to company forecasts).
In response to this market trend, the LP-XM150, with the highest brightness in its class*1 at 6,000 lumens, and the LP-XM100, with a high brightness of 5,000 lumens, have been developed. In addition, they incorporate the highly durable New Optical Engine using an inorganic liquid crystal panel and the AMF: Active Maintenance Filter system, which realize high reliability and lower maintenance cost. Further, numerous superior functions ideal for professional use are incorporated, including the “Power Vertical/Horizontal Lens Shifting Function” that enables projection adjustment without changing the projector position, which give these projectors an edge in a variety of use environments.
