Tokyo, August 26, 2009 – SANYO Electric Co., Ltd. (SANYO) is pleased to announce the LP-XU106, a projector that has the industry’s highest brightness^*1, 4,500 lumens, in the ultra portable class, as well as highly advanced functions, such as the ‘Corner Keystone Correction Function’, and the ‘Easy Setup Function’. The new LP-XU106 will be on sale from November 20, 2009.
　While only weighing 3.4 kg, the LP-XU106 offers a high contrast ratio of 1,000:1*2. Additionally, since the projector is able to properly project images at an angle thanks to the ‘Corner Keystone Correction Function’, it takes the lead in situations where the projector cannot be placed directly in front of the screen. Furthermore, with SANYO’s ‘Easy Setup Function’, novice users of projectors can quickly and effortlessly prepare for, operate and clearly and professionally project images.

　The number of XGA high-brightness ultra portable projectors in the range of 4,000 to 5,000 lumens shipped in the world market is expected to reach about 100,000 units in 2008, once the final figures are reported, and it is estimated to reach about 190,000 units in 2009. Even further growth is anticipated in this market segment, with the number of projectors predicted to reach about 450,000 units in 2010 (according to company forecasts).
　 Previously this year, SANYO announced the LP-XU300 Series (2,500 lumens ~ 3,500 lumens), the LP-WXU700 (3,800 lumens) and the LP-XW200/XW250 (2,200 lumens / 2,600 lumens) projectors, offering novice users “Simple and Easy” setup and design. This latest projector has been designed with advanced features such as with 4,500 lumens, the industry’s highest brightness*1 of its class, and the ‘Corner Keystone Correction Function’.
