Tokyo, June 5, 2008 - SANYO Electric Co., Ltd. (SANYO) is pleased to announce its participation in the ‘Environmental Showcase‘, which will be held in conjunction with the Hokkaido Toyako Summit, where SANYO‘s ‘eneloop universe', a product group realizing SANYO's brand vision "Think GAIA", will be displayed.

The 'Environmental Showcase' is an exhibition space to be located in the International Media Center at the Hokkaido Toyako Summit, to introduce the leading-edge environmental technology in Japan. It is hosted by the Japanese government for media and other visitors attending the Hokkaido Toyako Summit as a place to appeal Japan's efforts in environmental conservation and fighting global warming.

SANYO will continue to support Japan's move to strengthen efforts towards achieving goals outlined in the Kyoto Protocol, and inform its stakeholders of its efforts in this regard.

Eneloop universe is a product series developed on SANYO’s concept of “looping energy.”
